A comprehensive guide to male fertility. Including causes and treatment methods for infertility problems.

Out of all the couples who try their first pregnancy, approximately 15% of them fail due to infertility problems. Half of the cases are due to men fertility problems. Infertility treatment for men targets several causes so that conception could be made possible. Causes for infertility depend on both the genders. About 40% of the cases of infertility are due to the male conditions, which are treatable most of the times. Male fertility problems are caused mainly due to one organ only, which is the testis. Like female infertility problems, male causes should also be given equal attention and thorough chance of examination so the real causes could be analyzed and treated properly. . The best way to test male infertility is to go for a Semen analysis test. The results would show either a normal result, mild, moderate or even severely abnormal, meaning finding no traces of Semen in the sample at all.

On an average, around one half of the cases of infertility for males can be treated properly so that a successful conception can be achieved. The ways to a successful treatment are divided into three categories. The first step towards the treatment would be an Assisted Reproduction Method. In this method, therapeutic ways are exercised to improve an erectile dysfunction, obtain sperm, induce ejaculation and inseminate the egg.

The second option is medication or sometimes herbal treatments. These methods help to improve hormonal functions in men, improve sperm production and fight any kind of infection or sperm anti bodies. If necessary, surgical procedures are also applied to treat male fertility issues.

It is very important to be educated about this issue if you are suffering from this problem. Even your partner needs to have complete knowledge regarding this issue in order to support you in every step of treatment you go through. The right time to consult a physician is after trying for about a year and still not being able to conceive. If treatment for infertility in case of men is not treated on time, it may lead to many other health problems, including hormonal disorders, kidney problems, diabetes, reproductive tract obstruction etc. Be sure to ask your doctor about the risks involved in the treatment you require and an approximate time period that male infertility treatment takes.
